Golf Is a Fashion Sport
If you are a golfer, you may know that many courses have water features and some tee boxes are perched up on a hillside overlooking a valley or body of water. So, there is a lot of natural beauty and it can be nice to play and just clear your head. So, golf game is one of the best exercises that you can do.
In today's crazy golf world, more and more people would like to take up the golf game. So, I think golf is also a fashion sport. It started during my three-week hiatus of "fun-employment" between college and the real world. I needed something to do, a hobby. In this article, I would like to talk something about golf game. I am a golfer! "Maybe I should take up golf," I said to the guy over the phone one lazy Monday afternoon, while he was at work and I was doing my true favorite hobby, channel surfing.
"Ok, sure," he replied, unaware of the fetching outfits I was already picturing in my mind: There we were on the green, with coordinating teal (accented by orange, of course) golf socks and tilted berets, sipping martinis and congratulating each other on our matching hole-in-ones.
Little did I know how unglamorous the game of golf can actually be. Last weekend we played our first nine holes of the season. Despite my begging him to at least wear a shirt in the same color family as my purple-hued getup, the guy choose not to feed into my matching outfits fantasy.
There were no holes-in-ones to be found that day, but instead the incessant whacking sound of my club as I swung with all my five-foot-two might, only to watch the orange ball dribble a few yards to find its smug resting place in a patch of thick grass.
"You're looking away from the ball! Keep your head down," the guy yells from 150 yards away where his ball easily sailed. I don't understand this. I swear I'm looking at the ball. I shove my chin against my chest, willing my eyes to stay on that darn ball.
"Why don't you practice using your pitching wedge?" The guy says as he drops another ball a yard below the green.
I've only got to get through this last hole. I take a small, easy swing without bothering to line up the shot. Plop! The ball lands mere inches away from the hole.
"Did you see that?" I yell as I do my best Tiger-fist-pump in the air, blessing my future Nike endorsement. "I'm a pro!"
Never mind that I missed the next shot of mere inches, or that I could barely bend my wrists the next day because my forearms were so sore, all I know is I'm a golfer.
