Just Do It’ With Nike Watches
Nike was founded in 1964, and interestingly, the name was inspired by the Greek goddess of victory. However when it first began, the brand was originally known as Blue Ribbon Sports which imported Japanese brand Onitsuka Tiger running shoes, known today as ASICs, for sale in the United States and comprised of two owners; Oregon running/track coach Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, a middle-distance runner who both recognised that the sports industry needed a type of running shoe that demonstrated comfort, performance and great style.
Jeff Johnson was the then appointed in 1965 as the company's first sales employee. One night, Johnson dreamt of Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, and suggested the name to his bosses as a new potential name for the brand. The name sparked much creative inspiration and the Swoosh logo trademark was then created by a graphic-design student to go alongside the name. Nike was officially born.
Of course, Nike is a brand that is mostly associated with trainers geared mostly towards running and when it became renowned during the 80’s, really capitalised on the popularity of their products by dressing athletes such as sports stars John McEnroe and Michael Jordan in their clothing collections which included tennis and basketball attire. In 1988, Nike's ‘Just Do It’ slogan was introduced and today it remains one of the most iconic, successful and well known taglines in the world, instantly recognisable to Nike. In 1990, the first Nike Town store opened in Portland and the company signed pro golfer Tiger Woods in 1996.
Nike has a broad range of products including trainers, clothing and accessories and most recently Nike watches have become one of the hot products in the sports/fashion accessory field. Today Nike is a global leader in sportswear and the collection of Nike watches include designs for men, women and children, all of which are noted for their design innovation and affordability.
With bang on trend features such as wide leather straps, a dial displaying two time zones and unique aesthetics, Nike watches definitely tick the style boxes. Also featuring functions including stopwatch capabilities, Nike watches allow the wearer to measure their performance and looks great either on or off the running track or sports field. Designed for those who like their watch to be sporty but to also look great, Nike watches combine superb design with innovative technologies and high class materials for professional athletes and active people who enjoy on-the-go style.
