Adidas Adizero Crazy Light Black/Red-White "Rose"
Adidas introduces the adiZero Crazy Light well aware that Nike, Inc., with its Nike, Jordan and Converse brands, commands about 95 percent of U.S. basketball shoe sales. The Oregon sports equipment giant is led by the Jordan Brand, which, according to Matt Powell, footwear analyst for SportsOneSource, accounts for nearly 65 percent of sales, followed by Nike, with nearly 28 percent. Adidas is third, with slightly less than 3 percent. Norman said he is not daunted by those numbers, saying of the adiZero Crazy Light: "One show can make all the difference."
Although Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls run through the NBA Playoffs came to a halt in Miami last week, Derrick's footwear this season is still carrying a charge. Rose started out the season with the adiZero Rose, his first signature shoe, but he's also been the face of a new design that is taking on the competition by storm. The adidas adiZero Crazy Light not only lives up to its name at 9.8 ounces, but it also seems to be holding up on the performance end of things according to our recent adidas Crazy Light review.
adidas created this special wallpaper to help remind the competition of how "crazy" light this new basketball shoe really is. Of course, their "Versus The Other Guys" video series is already stirring up plenty of conversation but these images will make for a good background for fans of Derrick Rose and the Crazy Light until the shoes officially launch later this week.
When you win two consecutive NBA championships people begin to notice. And by people, I mean Nike Basketball. So, for Los Angeles Lakers (and Kobe Bryant) fans around the globe, Nike is giving you a treat. These Nike Hyperdunk 2010 and Nike Air Max Hyperdunk 2010 basketball sneakers share the same team-inspired Los Angeles Lakers colorway. Plus, they're also some of the most technologically advanced designs from Nike's basketball collection. Besides sharing the same look, both the Nike Hyperdunk 2010 and the Nike Air Max Hyperdunk 2010 feature Flywire technology, which redefines footwear construction by shaving off weight, adding strength and support. I'm sure you'll be seeing both of these sneakers pounding the hardwood at Staples Center this coming year as the Lakers try to defend their title, but they can also be yours.
Here's a look at the outstanding Blake Griffin Slam Dunk Contest shoe that Nike put together for the Clippers standout rookie … and then he didn't wear. Griffin actually wound up lacing up the Air Max Fly By, although when taking a closer look at this Nike Hyperdunk 2011 "Blake Griffin PE"—with an earthquake motif over most of the shoe including "broken earth" detailing, a Richter scale sketch and "10.0″ on the outsole—I can't imagine why he wouldn't sport this as often as possible. The collar, outsole and external heel counter even glow in the dark. While there's no word on a release for this particular edition, the Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 hits stores in Fall 2011.
